Central to Compacs cherry technology is our unique sorting technology. Your production requirements and capacity determine how many lanes will be suitable for your packhouse Compac’s cherry sorter is extremely gentle with all cherries singulated in water, rather than dry singulation. This method is very effective at singulating cherries for high cupfill, reducing the need for potentially damaging recycle. All of our sorting solutions can be specified with Compac’s innovative, industry-leading InVision grading systems to reduce labor requirements while maintaining the highest level of consistency and accuracy.
Our intelligent, easy-to-use InVision learning software enables intuitive recognition of fruit types and will adjust grading accordingly. InVision can accurately perceive dark colors, subtle browns, soft pinks and yellows commonly found in different varieties of cherries.
Using both color and infrared cameras and Compac’s advanced InVision software, cherries are sorted based on the presence surface blemishes. InVision can detect and grade on minor to major defects including skin blemishes, insect damage, misshapen fruit, bruising and abrasions. The Compac InVision system is very tunable, allowing for various grades which incorporate differing levels of defects for ultimate control when it comes to matching product grades to different markets.
Compac has a range of cherry packing solutions to meet the different needs of our customers including box, bag, tray, bin, punnet and tote. Our packing solutions have been designed with cherries in mind, ensuring a particularly gentle transition and handling of fruit.
The Compac box filler gently fills cherries by weight with a trickle feed to accurately top off the box to the nearest few cherries. This means less underweight boxes and the labor required to manually top these boxes up.
Compac technology allows punnet and clam-shell filling stations to be fed a constant flow of cherries from the machine. Compac has a number of 3rd party options for punnet and clamshell filling depending on customer requirements.
Compac’s data and integration solutions ensure that all cherrys are tracked and recorded as they cross the sorter, with this information being exchanged with other packhouse systems such as ERP, traceability systems and carton printing applications.
