SCS, Smart Consumables System, through RFID labels With the SCS (Smart Consumables System) GIRO once again revolutionizes the world of horticultural packaging providing machines and consumables with some 'intelligence'.
The principle of the SCS is the use of RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) labels in the consumables while RFID reader devices are used in the packaging machines.
RFID technology allows a reading of the information contained on the label without having to be physical contact or optical reading. The information is transmitted wirelessly by radio frequency, therefore it is not needed to make any additional process during packaging.
In this way the packaging machine automatically recognizes consumables (net, film or label) that will feed the machine.
The concept is fairly simple operation. The consumables have the necessary information that describes them. This information is captured by the machine so that you can compare if, for example, the film side A and side B are fed appropriate to the selected bag or if temperatures are suitable for the welding of the materials.
Once the check is done, the machine can accept or can display on the screen warning messages for the operator to check the consumables and correct possible mistakes.
RFID labels also incorporate traceability information and quality control of the consumables.
