Benito Orihuel, CEO of Citrosol, a leading company in post-harvest technology and treatment of fruit and vegetable produce, developed his professional career in the company from where he is due to retire in December.
Since taking the helm at Citrosol, the company has grown to hold a 40% market share throughout Spain and has tripled its turnover. Furthermore, he has overseen very significant international expansion.
In the interview in Valenciaplaza Benito looks back over his career, the growth of Citrosol and the future of the sector.
CITROSOL, advanced postharvest solutions, was established in 1964, in the La Safor region, located in the province of Valencia (Spain), but soon expanded its scope with delegations in Murcia, Andalusia and the Valencian Community to allow us to be closer to our customers.
Currently, CITROSOL is present in the main citrus and other fruit producing countries around the world, presence in more than 22 countries, with its own staff in Peru and a subsidiary in South Africa.
To fulfill our commitment to society, we firmly believe that we must investigate, develop, and innovate to provide more sustainable solutions that, coupled with our technical advice to the client, will guarantee the maximum effectiveness of treatments, closing the gap between the laboratory and real world industry results.
