BION presents its innovative real-time data platform BION WORLD. The ETH Sense range is the first to incorporate Internet of Things (IoT) technology in its ethylene filtration equipment. The RTL+ is the device that will allow monitoring of fruit temperature, humidity, and tracking in real-time.
Technology makes it easier for us to have data and this allows us to have greater control over our products. In the postharvest industry, having data on the concentration of ethylene, the temperature at which the fruits are stored, etc. is essential.
BION, a leading company in postharvest solutions, has developed two products linked to an online platform that will allow growers and traders to have greater control throughout the entire supply chain.
BION will show its novelties to the industry at Fruit Logistica 2022 in Berlin.
The main novelty is the activation of the BION WORLD platform. Easy to use and friendly, the platform allows access through any device and at any time, to relevant information about the products that are being monitored.
It is a unique and exclusive service for the products that the brand has developed.
Apart from filtering the air by removing ethylene, volatile organic compounds, and CO2, the ETH Sense equipment incorporates sensors that allow these parameters and others such as temperature and relative humidity to be monitored. These data are accessible 24/7 from the LCD screen or through the BION WORLD online platform.
A revolution that will allow you to make the best decisions.
The other launch that BION presents at the show is also linked to collecting and visualizing data in real-time. In this case, it is the RTL+ (Real-Time Logger Plus). The small device allows to record and visualizes in real-time the data collected through the BION WORLD platform. In this way, the user can access data such as temperature, humidity, and relative location of the load for 60 days at any time.
Dr. Filippo Fedi, responsible for the creation and development of the product, tells us why it is important to incorporate these solutions in companies: “When I started developing the platform and the devices, I wanted all users to have access to relevant information that would allow decisions to be made in real-time and thus maximize the benefits of the companies that incorporate it. On the other hand, I also consider it important not to forget that having the harvest monitored during the postharvest phase can prevent food waste by making the right decisions at the right time.”
Bioconservación, with more than 25 years of experience in the fruit and vegetable sector, is continually innovating. Thinking about offering its distributors and customers a quality service and above all projecting how new technologies can be an ally in extending the life of the harvest.
