Automatic starchmeter for controlling the ripeness of apples and pears

AMILON offers reliable and replicable readings

Did you know that the maturity stage of the fruit at harvest is of fundamental importance in determining the final quality of the product and its storage potential?

Did you know that the grouping of fruit with a homogeneous degree of maturity strongly impacts shelf life and fruit quality?

AMILON, developed by ISOLCELL, is a tool for determining the maturity stage of apples and pears quickly, accurately and without misinterpretation, with the possibility to archive the data electronically.

The AMILON is an automatic starchmeter that photographs an equatorial section of fruit that has previously been treated with an iodine-potassium iodide solution (Lugol solution). Innovative software then processes the image and returns an accurate measurement of the starch index value.

Advantages:
Amilon performs:

    - Objective and automatic measurements of starch hydrolysis
    - Instrument measurement can be reproduced and compared repeatedly
    - Quick measurement of single fruit and / or a sample of maximum of 20 fruits
    - Measurement readings available for all varieties
    - Automatic data capture
