Plastidom Domplex commits to renewable energies

The photovoltaic installation will reduce the energy needs of Plastidom/Domplex by 20%, as well as avoid the emission of 689 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere

PLASTIDOM DOMPLEX has created a Renewable Energy Community, in partnership with Energia Unida, a GreenVolt – Energias Renováveis company.

The installation of more than 3,000 photovoltaic solar panels, with a power of 1,805 KWp, together with the industrial and logistics facilities, in Leiria, will allow an estimated annual energy production of 2,598 MWh.

This means that, in addition to a reduction of around 20% in the energy needs of the Plastidom/Domplex installations, it will also be possible to share the remaining energy produced from the sun with other consumers, companies and families.

This sharing will take place within a radius of, on average, four kilometers, and the estimated energy cost reduction for this extended community will be 24%.

In addition to saving energy bills, this project will allow for a reduction of around 689 tons in CO2 emissions, another measure of concern and environmental sustainability applied by Pastidom/Domplex.
