Within the main features of Sakata varieties, we work intensely on: white color, self-covering, cycle reliability, curd density, earliness, plant health, and many other aspects. We remain attentive to the market trends to stay close to the future demands.
The range of new material to cover the season includes (February 2017):
- CAU0193 F1, earliness and quality to start the season (early, 75-85 days). It´s a new variety that performs well for late-spring – early summer harvests in North and Central Europe. It´s a product to try!
- MERTON F1, a versatile variety with good vigour (early medium, 85-95 days). Strong adaptability in different climatic and soil conditions is one of the main characteristics, due it´s powerful root system. Also very good results when used for processing.
- JERICHO F1, for cooler harvesting periods (medium, 95-105 days). Shows a very good behaviour against ripping (detached florets) and is an excellent choice for both fresh market and processing.
- AMANDINE F1, dense curds for multiple markets (medium, 95-110 days). A very uniform variety, appreciated for its density, firmness and capacity to answer the demands of either fresh or processing markets.
