The Georgia-based company has ordered two TOPCONTROL packaging lines for a newly built greenhouse in Iran. With extensive experience in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, product marketing and project finance, Silk Water Group has set itself the task of assisting farms in Eurasia to exploit their potential and maximise profits.
For the greenhouse, which produces tomatoes as well as various types of vegetables such as peppers and herbs, TopControl supplied a manual packing line MPL with 6 leveling scales SSC9200 and a semi-automatic packing line SPL-F with 14 SSC9220. The packaging lines with their scales are connected with the software solution StatisticsWeights, which records and analyses production data, and identifies the productivity.
MPL offers, besides the packing tables, which are all equipped with a SSC9200, a central removal of the ready-made packages. The three-level SPL-F packing line, that has been supplied as well, represents a further step towards the automation of the packaging processes. Here the raw material supply to the individual workstations is done centrally via an automatic feed conveyor, the removal of the ready-made packages and the empty boxes for the supply of raw material via a conveyor. The frontal arrangement of the tables in the SPL-F makes the packing line the optimal solution for a constricted working environment. With a width of less than 1.50 m, the line can be used almost anywhere.
Both lines were, like all packing lines at TopControl, individually planned and adapted to the special needs of the customer in order to achieve an optimal result. The flexible packing lines are perfect for processing a variety of products, just like the Iranian packing house needs for the different types of vegetables.
When designing the packing lines was of course also thought of the workers. The stable design of the lines is particularly ergonomic and thus facilitates the daily work. This not only minimizes the physical strain on the workers, but also allows for efficient work without useless movements.
Having so many advantages, also Janis Briska, Technical Director of the Silk Water Group, was impressed of the packing lines. The first tests were carried out to the fullest satisfaction, so nothing stands in the way of a successful application.
