At ULMA PACKAGING, we are aware of the growing demand from consumers for increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly packaging. Therefore, through our #ULMAweCare project, we have developed sustainable designs and applications in our range of packaging machines, which we are continuing to innovate.
Technologies aimed at improving sustainability through innovation
We have several technologies that are specifically designed for the fruit and vegetable sector, such as:
Increases packaging productivity for fresh herbs and light leaf salads eradicating the problem of product blockages often found in conventional packaging machinery.
Reduces bag volume, so it also reduces the logistics-related carbon footprint.
Resolves the sealing problems associated with new sustainable materials.
New alternative materials that allow us to implement solutions based on eco-design and sustainability principles, aligned with a Circular Economy strategy for easier recycling when packaging reaches the end of its life-cycle.
At Fruit Logistica, we will be displaying highly versatile equipment that can work with conventional materials, but also:
- Recyclable packaging with paper fibre materials
- Mono-material recyclable packaging
- Packaging from renewable materials
Automation and integration of end of line solutions
Through ULMA Packaging Automation, we offer a wide range of end of line solutions for the automatic packing of trays and bags. These solutions work in tandem with auxiliary equipment such as cardboard box forming machines, sealing machines, plastic box stackers and de-stackers, etc. increasing the line's efficiency and productivity.
ULMA Digital – solutions for smart industry
Our packaging machines are equipped with an HMI (UPC 4.0) that increases their capabilities, thus facilitating operation and integration tasks in an Industry 4.0 environment, with step-by-step guides for standard operating procedures, with pictures, videos and tutorials.
The connectivity options provided through remote access and integration with MES and ERP systems are complemented by OEE analysis tools, in the equipment itself and via the myULMA portal, where a more thorough analysis can be performed.
