Updates about the "1st all Africa congress on synthetic pesticides, environment, human and animal health"

Safari Park Hotel & Casino, Nairobi, Kenya, June 18-20, 2019

World Hunger is on the rise. The race is on to produce enough food to feed a rapidly exploding world population that will approach 10 billion by 2050. Nowhere is this pending food shortage crisis more acute than in Africa where a "Second Green Revolution" has been launched to address the problem. Synthetic pesticide use is set to greatly accelerate during the "Second Green Revolution." Before going down this road we need to assess the potential negative impact of synthetic pesticide contamination on the African people, their animals, and environment and explore alternative synthetic-pesticide free forms of agriculture.

As synthetic pesticide contamination is set to dramatically increase in Africa, convincing evidence has emerged that certain commonly used synthetic pesticides can cause serious diseases in humans and animals and degrade the environment. The safe use of herbicides such as glyphosate and Atrazine is being highly questioned along with pesticide-related GMOs.

Leading world scientists have been attracted to the "1st ALL AFRICA CONGRESS ON SYNTHETIC PESTICIDES, ENVIRONMENT, HUMAN AND ANIMAL HEALTH" to assess the safety of present synthetic pesticides used and recommended in Africa and to set a course to substantially and sustainably reduce synthetic pesticide contamination in the African continent.
