MULTIPOND multihead weighing system with 3D cameras for optimal product flow (1st. picture)
MULTIPOND weighing systems independently monitor optimal product flow. 3D cameras on the scales linked to the controller provide data on the occupancy of the distribution cone and vibrator trays. A computer evaluates this information and independently initiates correct action. This system has been patented by the company. On earlier MULTIPOND weighing systems, pre-weighing provided details on the amount of product on the distribution cone. Now, the patented 3D cameras provide additional information about where and how much product is located on the distribution cone and in the feed trays. Based on this image information, the weighing system can respond, for example, by selectively controlling individual feed trays. This makes it possible to quickly and automatically correct overfills or detect and resolve product gaps.

Full-wrap labelling for blueberries, attractive packaging with self-adhesive labels (2nd. picture)
With full-wrap labelling, which is also known as D-labelling, a label is wrapped around four sides of a pack similar to a sleeve or band. This offers a wide variety of package design options and significantly increases attractiveness at the point of sale. Full-wrap labelling with a MULTIVAC conveyor belt labeller maximises automation and label positioning accuracy with a wide range of label shapes and materials. It also ensures more flexibility when it comes to packaging shapes. The MULTIVAC L 310 full-wrap labeller processes self-adhesive labels with a width of up to 500 millimetres. Conveyor belt labellers can also be equipped with additional label dispensers, for example, to supplement the full-wrap label with a special promotional action label.


PIGO EASY Freeze DRYER (lyophilizer), faster drying with less energy (3rd picture)
The company PIGO srl develops and manufactures advanced industrial freeze dryers. The range of lyophilizers includes a wide variety of standard and custom models. There are significant differences between the exhibitor's PIGO EASY Freeze DRYING technology (lyophilization) and other freeze-drying techniques. PIGO products reduce drying time by 15-20% and consume less energy. A top priority for the developers was to ensure all system components are readily accessible and easy to clean. This prevents bacteria or residue from contaminating the machine components or being transferred to food. In addition, all phases of the drying process are designed for easy, fast, and efficient operation and maintenance.

DRR cutting machine, coring and cutting apples, pears and peaches (4th picture)
The DRR cutting machine cores apples, pears and peaches before cutting them into slices or rings. The unit, by PND Costruzioni Elettromeccaniche srl, consists of welded stainless-steel tubes and a rotating plate with eight stations for the fruits. A mechanism for the three operations is positioned above the plate on the back of the fruit input chute. The plate holding the fruits rotates in steps and halts for the three operations: coring, pushing and cutting. Once the operator places the fruits in the machine, all movements are mechanically controlled. The first mechanism uses a pneumatic cylinder to perform an up and down movement. A rotating steel tube driven by an electric motor cores the fruits. Coring tube diameters are fully adjustable. The second mechanism pushes the fruit through the third step, where the knife cuts the fruit into slices or rings. A stainless-steel box on the machine contains the control unit and frequency converter for synchronising operations.
 

Anastasia F1, watermelon with small seeds, thin skin and sweet pulp (5th picture)
According to Progene Seed s.s.a. Anastasia F1 is characterised by features that are unique and in-demand on national and international markets: small seeds, a relatively thin 1cm shell, and pulp that is bright red, crunchy and sweet. This new melon variety meets industry needs because it adapts perfectly to most plantations, including polyethylene tunnels and outdoor cultivation. Early and late grafting is possible in winter in a greenhouse and in spring in a polytunnel. The plants are robust with excellent leaf cover of the fruits to protect them from sunburn. Anastasia F1 is an early variety, well balanced in growth and ideal for grafting. Good blossoming enables uniform production. The fruits have an elongated shape with dark-green, shiny stripes and weigh 16 to 20 kilograms.
