AgroSustain is your trusted partner in building sustainable, efficient solutions to preserve the quality and availability of your fresh produce. We do this by providing Afondo, our edible coating composed of bio-vegetable oils and edible emulsifiers. Together, these ingredients form an invisible barrier on the surface of the fruits and vegetables, helping to reduce water loss by up to 50% during transport, extend cold storage shelf life by up to one month, and prolong shelf life at the retailer by 2 to 8 days, depending on the crop.

What truly sets us apart is Afondo’s tight, well-adhered barrier, which limits oxygen exchange on the fruit surface providing the benefit/advantage of reducing post-harvest fungicide use by 50% to 100%, depending on the commodity.

Afondo is approved for use on conventional crops in Europe, Latin America, Africa, the United States, and several Asian markets. It is widely used on bananas, mangoes, avocados, passion fruit, and papayas, with growing adoption in citrus, nectarines, other high-value perishables, and ornamental crops such as roses and hydrangeas.

Our solution fits directly into existing packing infrastructure. Growers and packers can apply Afondo using standard spraying or bathing units, requiring no additional investment, and at most, only minor adjustments.

We operate through close partnerships. First, we perform pilot trials to demonstrate efficacy and validate Afondo’s integration within your supply chain. Then, we move forward together with follow-on commercial agreements designed to fit your operations.

In addition, we are preparing to launch our second product in 2026: Tornado, a biostimulant that enhances plant growth and stress tolerance in the field. It has shown up to 47% yield improvement and strong performance on grapes, strawberries, apples, and passion fruit, and is now being validated on avocados and bananas.
