Global Melon & Watermelon Event 2026: new varieties to differentiate melon and watermelon in the market

Rijk Zwaan’s event will take place at the CED La Palma in Cartagena, with a local week and an international week focused on varietal innovation, differentiation and new opportunities for the category.

Rijk Zwaan will hold a new edition of the Global Melon & Watermelon Event 2026 at its Research and Development Centre, CED La Palma, in Cartagena, where it will once again bring together professionals from across the melon and watermelon value chain.

The event will include a local week, from 22 to 26 June, and an international week, scheduled from 30 June to 2 July. Under the slogan “Shaping value growth in the M&W category”, the meeting will be aimed at growers, marketers and distributors interested in discovering new varietal proposals and solutions designed to drive category growth.

During the event, visitors will be able to discover developments created to respond to changing consumer preferences and add value throughout the chain, from production to marketing.

 

Varietal innovation to differentiate the category

In watermelon, Rijk Zwaan will showcase concepts such as Orange Sunglow™, Candy Ball™, Sandissima™ and Tropical™, designed to promote category differentiation through new consumption experiences, innovative proposals and high value-added solutions.

In melon, attendees will be able to discover the latest developments in Galuna™, PX Defense™ and Melllissimo™, solutions focused on combining flavor, quality, crop safety and profitability in response to the current needs of growers, marketers and consumers.

With this new edition, Rijk Zwaan will focus on the role of varietal innovation as a tool to generate new opportunities in melon and watermelon, strengthen differentiation in the market and contribute to the development of a category with greater commercial value.

The Global Melon & Watermelon Event 2026 will bring together national and international professionals in Cartagena to share the trends and opportunities shaping the future of melon and watermelon.
