The city of João Pessoa, Brazil, will host the 4th Brazilian Congress on Minimal Processing and Postharvest (IV CBPC 2026) from 7 to 10 October 2026 under the theme "Biology and Innovation for Sustainable Valorisation and Preservation."
The event will bring together researchers, universities, industry representatives and professionals from six countries to discuss the latest scientific and technological advances in postharvest biology, food preservation and loss reduction across the horticultural supply chain.
Scientific sessions will focus on molecular biology, epigenetics, omics technologies, plant health, fruit ripening, as well as the application of digital tools, the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence to improve postharvest management.
The congress is organised by a network of leading Brazilian institutions including the Federal University of Paraíba, the University of São Paulo, the Federal University of Viçosa, Embrapa, Sebrae and the Government of Paraíba State, strengthening collaboration between research organisations and the agrifood industry.
