Edible Coatings

AgriCoat, known for its NatureSeal range for fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, will take part in Fruit Logistica 2026, held at Messe Berlin from 4 to 6 February 2026, where it will be exhibiting at Hall 5.2, Stand B62.

The company’s presence at the event will focus on recent developments aimed at the ready-to-eat sector, covering prepared vegetables, fresh-cut fruit and avocado-based applications.

Ready-to-eat applications

Among the solutions to be highlighted is a sulphite-free treatment for prepared potato products. The treatment is designed to protect against oxidative browning both in-pack and when products are exposed to air, targeting applications where sulphites are avoided due to allergen labelling requirements and potential sensory impact.

The company will also present its work in avocado applications, including fresh guacamole and fresh-cut avocado formats such as chunks, slices and dices. These solutions are intended to help maintain colour and product quality without the addition of preservatives or changes to taste, supporting uses such as sushi, sandwiches and salad bowls.

Extending shelf life and reducing waste

Shelf-life extension and food waste reduction form part of the company’s longer-term technology strategy. Earlier developments included edible, plant-based coatings such as Semperfresh, applied post-harvest to reduce spoilage and delay ripening in whole fruit and vegetables.

Today, the NatureSeal range is positioned as a core technology for maintaining quality and shelf life in fresh-cut fruit and prepared vegetables. In Berlin, the company will again showcase specialist formulations developed for products such as bananas, avocados and guacamole.

Produce wash and organic solutions

The company will also feature its NatureSeal FS produce wash, used for the cleaning and decontamination of fresh produce. Alongside this, AgriCoat will present the latest addition to the range, developed for misting and spray applications on fruits including grapes and berries.

Several formulations within the NatureSeal portfolio are approved for use in organic production. This includes NatureSeal First Step (FS), an organic, fruit acid-based produce wash for the decontamination of whole fruit, vegetables and leafy products, used by processors supplying supermarket customers in multiple markets.
