A visit by Poscosecha.com to the BG Door International stand at Fruit Attraction provided an opportunity to explore solutions for rapid cooling, ripening, and storage of fresh produce.

Temperature, air circulation, and the control of ripening conditions directly influence the state in which fruit reaches the market. At Fruit Attraction, the Poscosecha.com team visited BG Door International, which showcased its solutions for managing various stages of post-harvest preservation from removing field heat to cold storage.

Among the solutions presented was a mobile pre-cooling unit designed to rapidly lower product temperature using directed airflow. Its design allows it to be moved wherever needed and used for batch processing an option also well-suited for producers and facilities with seasonal operations.

According to the company, the system can reduce cooling time by up to 75%. The unit features a motorized pallet-covering system, accommodates up to 24 pallets, and utilizes high-efficiency EC fans. The company notes that, in addition to cooling fresh produce, the equipment can be used for processes such as drying ginger.

Each fruit requires its own specific conditions

BG Door International’s portfolio includes custom-made ripening rooms, cold storage doors, and solutions designed to maintain controlled conditions. These systems can be adapted to products with varying requirements, such as bananas, mangoes, avocados, and berries.

In the ripening rooms, precise management of temperature and air circulation helps create the ideal conditions for each product. Meanwhile, the cold storage doors and access points play a key role in chamber control and daily facility operations.

The company showcased these solutions alongside Cold Energy in Hall 6, Stand C02. Their offering targets producers, logistics operators, and fruit and vegetable packing centers looking to tailor pre-cooling and storage processes to the specific characteristics of each product and season.
