Citrosol, a leading company in post-harvest technology and treatments for fruits and vegetables, is gearing up for its participation in the upcoming edition of Fruit Logistica, scheduled to take place in Berlin from February 7 to 9, 2024. The Valencian company will be located in Hall 18, where its booth A-25 will occupy an impressive space of 56m2 under the design of its renewed brand image, presenting its latest innovations designed to maintain freshness and extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.

Citrosol has an extensive catalog of effective and innovative solutions; in this edition, the focus will be on highlighting the vegetable coatings SunSeal® Vegan and PlantSeal® and the CitroFy technology.

SunSeal® Vegan and PlantSeal® Coatings

One of Citrosol's most successful solutions is its vegetable coatings, especially its flagship products: SunSeal® Vegan and PlantSeal®. The former, certified with V-LABEL, is an evolution of the citrus coating SunSeal®, launched in 2017. This coating not only enhances protection during long-distance shipments and refrigerated storage but also addresses market demands by offering an ecological and vegan solution.

On the other hand, the new SunSeal® Vegan-D formulation has been designed for de-greened citrus, allowing for better color development during refrigerated transport. Additionally, for operators seeking superior gloss, Citrosol introduces SunSeal® Vegan-Extra. These two products, besides improving gloss and low drying temperatures, have also demonstrated to reduce weight loss by up to 45%, optimizing the commercial life of citrus.

CitroFy, Latest Live Demonstrations

Citrosol will also present its CitroFy system during the event, providing visitors with the last opportunity to witness live demonstrations at a trade fair like Fruit Logistica. CitroFy is a comprehensive solution that allows real-time connection of Citrosol's application systems and control of their parameters.

From monitoring to controlling fungicide, coating, and water consumption, CitroFy offers an intuitive and contextualized experience tailored to each user's needs. This system, designed to operate from any internet-connected device, provides total control over the fruit's condition, enabling efficient post-harvest treatment management.

In summary, Citrosol is gearing up to offer a unique experience at this edition of Fruit Logistica, highlighting its vegetable coatings and the advanced CitroFy system. The Valencian company invites all attendees to visit its booth to get a close look at these innovative solutions and discover how Citrosol continues to lead the way in post-harvest technologies.

About Citrosol

Although founded in 1994 as Productos Citrosol, S.A., the activity of post-harvest treatments and technology began in the 1960s within Electroquímica del Serpis, S.A., both in Potries, Valencia. As a result of significant organic growth in the last 10-15 years, Citrosol currently has 109 employees, 8 of them stationed in various countries and in its subsidiary in South Africa, Citrosol South Africa Pty, and Peru. In its Potries facilities, the company has an R&D+i laboratory and a pilot plant of just over 1,200 m2. Its organic growth has been largely due to its strong innovative character, having received the Innovation Award from CEPYME in 2015 and 2020, and the Innovation in Business Award 2020 from the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia.

Citrosol was born as a specialist in post-harvest treatments and technology for citrus, but for over 10 years now, as a result of its R&D+i work, it has been developing solutions to extend the commercial life of avocados, peppers, tomatoes, peeled garlic, and other fruits and vegetables. Currently, Citrosol is introducing its solution for IV range in the market, the Citrocide® Fresh-Cut System, which significantly reduces the water and carbon footprint in the production of IV range fruit and vegetables. With all its treatments and technologies, Citrosol contributes greatly to reducing food losses and waste in fresh fruits and vegetables.
