The orientation of a product as it enters the drum can influence the cutting result. With this in mind, FAM STUMABO will introduce a contoured infeed for its SureTec 240P slicer at Interpom 2026, designed to better guide white potatoes and sweet potatoes prior to cutting.
According to the company, this infeed improves product orientation, which can enhance line throughput and the length of the resulting fries. In sweet potato processing, the design also helps minimize jams and ensures a more consistent flow. The SureTec 240P is engineered to cut both white and sweet potatoes into strips, dices, and slices.
The machine also features the "SureCut Unit," which consolidates cutting components into a pre-assembled unit with the cut size already set. This approach simplifies installation and reduces the risk of errors during tool setup even for staff with less technical expertise.
This initiative aligns with the invitation the company extended to industry professionals at Gulfood Manufacturing: to bring their specific cutting challenges such as uneven cuts, product loss, difficult textures, or the need for improved line performance to the table for discussion. The Dubai trade show took place from November 3 to 5; the next event will be Interpom, held from November 29 to December 1 at Kortrijk Xpo.
At Interpom, FAM STUMABO will showcase the SureTec 240P and its full range of potato-cutting solutions in Hall 1, Stand 199. The company invites attendees to present a specific product and cutting challenge to their team, in order to explore which solution might best suit their production process.
Formed through the merger of two key players in European food-processing engineering the Belgian company FAM, a specialist in industrial cutting machinery, and the Swedish firm STUMABO International, a leader in the manufacture of high-precision blades FAM STUMABO has established itself as a cornerstone of the global processed food industry. With a track record defined by continuous innovation in mechatronic design and materials science, the company excels in providing comprehensive cutting solutions tailored for fruits, vegetables, potatoes, meat, cheese, and plant-based protein alternatives. By combining equipment for dicing, slicing, shredding, and strip-cutting with its own proprietary, precision-engineered blades, FAM STUMABO enables food processing and packaging facilities including those in the fresh-cut (convenience food) sector to optimize yield per kilogram of raw material, significantly reduce waste caused by cellular friction, and achieve levels of product uniformity and shelf life that meet the most rigorous demands of the international agri-food market.
