FRUIT LOGISTICA is sponsoring the 11th International Table Grape Symposium (ITGS), taking place this week in Murcia with around 700 professionals from around the world. The event focuses on one of the most internationally oriented categories within the fresh produce sector.
“Table grapes are a truly global category, with production, trade and innovation present in the main fresh produce markets. This is why they have such a prominent presence at FRUIT LOGISTICA,” says Silvia de Juanes, Communications Director of FRUIT LOGISTICA for Spain and Latin America.
According to de Juanes, the trade fair provides producers and exporters with an opportunity to meet buyers from international markets while also learning about new varieties, technologies and consumer trends shaping the future of the category.
According to FEPEX export data for 2025, Spain exports between 45% and 55% of its table grape production, depending on the harvest.
The main export destinations remained stable in 2025. Germany led the ranking with €116 million, followed by the United Kingdom with €79 million, Portugal with €60.8 million, France with €48.4 million and the Netherlands with €39.4 million.
These five markets accounted for approximately €265 million of the €483 million total export value, representing around 55%.
For Josefina Mena del Pueyo, Sales Director at Moyca Grapes, the international development of the sector depends on creating value through varieties capable of attracting consumers. The company considers FRUIT LOGISTICA an important meeting point for connecting with customers from different markets and presenting its varieties to professionals from around the world.
Innovation also plays a central role in AMFresh’s strategy, with the company using the Berlin trade fair to present its latest developments. The company won the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Award (FLIA) in 2025 with its premium Onyx™ orange and was again among the finalists in 2026 with BOOMBITES™ Red Berry Grapes, a red-fleshed grape developed by Bloom Fresh.
According to Patricia Sagarminaga, Global Marketing and Communications Director at AMFresh Group, FRUIT LOGISTICA provides a platform to meet, connect, share ideas and contribute to the future of the fresh produce sector.
Companies interested in participating in the FLIA 2027 can already submit their entries in the Fresh Produce and Technology categories. The awards recognise products, services and technologies that introduce new solutions to the fresh produce sector.
Companies wishing to showcase their latest launches in the new Innovation Zone can also submit their applications through the FRUIT LOGISTICA platform.
In 2027, the innovation area will be concentrated in Hall 3.2, bringing together the FLIA, the FRUIT LOGISTICA Innovation Showcases (FLIS) and the Innovation Stage.
The 2026 edition attracted around 2,600 exhibitors from approximately 90 countries and nearly 90,000 participants from 151 countries, highlighting the trade fair’s international reach.
The next edition of FRUIT LOGISTICA will take place from 3 to 5 February 2027 in Berlin, once again bringing together professionals from across the international fresh produce value chain.
