Green Sort leaves 2025 behind after a year the company describes as particularly intense and a turning point, and looks ahead to 2026 with new projects aimed at introducing improvements and additional functionalities to its fruit grading lines.

For the second consecutive year, the company’s optical sorters for apples, pears, apricots, blueberries and cranberries have maintained a leading position in the domestic market. At the same time, Green Sort reports that its presence has expanded towards overseas markets, and that today there are very few European countries where its machines are not already in operation.

What customers highlight

According to the company, discussions with customers frequently point to its grading lines being described as “very intelligent machines”, with particular emphasis on their intuitive and user-friendly interface, which facilitates daily operation even for less experienced users.

Green Sort explains that its intelligent optical sorters are equipped with Agriculture 4.0 systems and advanced tools for quality monitoring and data traceability, allowing precise control of product quality and shelf life. The compact design of the lines, their versatility and return on investment are highlighted as especially relevant for growers seeking modern solutions and sustainable development of their operations.

2026: review year and 10th anniversary

The company notes that 2026 will be both a year of review and an important milestone in its history, as Green Sort celebrates its 10th anniversary as the first Polish manufacturer of optical fruit sorters.

Over the past year, Green Sort reports having introduced modern packing tables, bin fillers and expanded dedicated solutions for pear grading. In addition, work on a gentle hydraulic pear unloading system is said to be nearing completion.

Kiwi: first optical sorter operating in Italy

Among its developments, the company highlights its first optical sorter for kiwi, currently operating at an agricultural facility in Italy. Green Sort links this project to the growing kiwi cultivation area in Italy and Spain.

The company explains that the project represented a technical challenge, as kiwi is not grown in its home climatic zone, and required close remote collaboration with the customer over the course of an entire season. The work involved analysing cultivation technology, market quality requirements and the characteristics of the three main varieties—green, gold and red—including morphological differences, colour, firmness, the presence of hairs and spines, and highly variable fruit shape.

Green Sort adds that the functional software developed, together with the experience gained and the database created, will allow the company to support kiwi producers in Europe and South America in the future with dedicated solutions.

Key products in 2025

Among the products highlighted by the company in 2025 are the NIR16 and NIR32 precision weighers and optical sorters for blueberries, which assess fruit using visible and near-infrared light. These systems incorporate a highly precise ejection mechanism for poorly coloured fruit or fruit with internal defects.

In parallel, Green Sort reports having devoted significant effort to refining a pneumatic sorter that ejects fruit using compressed air. According to the company, the first installations are already operating in commercial farms, expanding the range with a faster blueberry sorter.

Upcoming presentations

Looking ahead to 2026, Green Sort plans to present new solutions aimed at the blueberry sector at international horticultural trade fairs such as TSW (Kielce, Poland, 23–24 January) and Fruit Logistica (Berlin, Germany).
