In this context, Interko strengthens its technological offering with the AXESSO ripening rooms, a solution designed to provide full control, operational flexibility and energy efficiency.
AXESSO rooms stand out for their ability to ripen fruit independently on a pallet-by-pallet basis, allowing different batches and stages of fruit to be handled within the same room. Thanks to their random-access design, each pallet can be inserted or removed individually, regardless of its position, offering a significant logistical and operational advantage compared with conventional systems.
Each pallet is equipped with its own fan and air distribution system, ensuring homogeneous and precise ripening. In addition, wide internal aisles improve manoeuvrability, while adjustable side curtains and antibacterial foam dividers with PVC coating allow the system to be adapted to different pallet sizes and fruit types.
To minimise dehydration and product losses, AXESSO rooms incorporate an Aero-cooler designed with low temperature differentials, ensuring rapid removal of field heat and uniform temperature throughout the room. Optionally, the system can be equipped with humidification to maintain optimal relative humidity levels and extend product shelf life.
One of the key elements of the system is the use of REVERSO reversible fans with EC motors, developed by Interko and individually controlled. These fans enable highly efficient operation, with minimal energy consumption per pallet, contributing to a significant reduction in operating costs.
AXESSO rooms are also characterised by their robustness and reliability, and can be built in single-level, double-level or up to three-level configurations using high-quality steel structures. In addition, they integrate temperature, CO₂ and relative humidity sensors, as well as options for electric heating and heat recovery, adapting to the specific requirements of each customer.
