In an era where efficiency, quality, and sustainability are essential for the agri-food sector, the ability to anticipate challenges has become a critical factor.

Today, it is no longer enough to simply react to problems as they arise; the true challenge lies in proactively addressing them. In the realm of postharvest management, understanding how fruit will behave in the face of climate change, forecasting potential diseases, modeling storage conditions, and utilizing non-destructive technologies for problem detection are just some of the exciting topics that will be discussed at this conference.

Anticipating how fruit will behave during storage and predicting the evolution of its quality are crucial for making better and more efficient decisions. Thanks to advances in modeling, sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and data analysis, predictive capabilities are expected to improve significantly in the coming years, transforming how we understand and manage postharvest processes.

In this context, IRTA is organizing the "XXIII Postharvest Techniques Conference," which will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in Lleida, under the theme: "Can Postharvest Be Predicted?"
