The Valencian Institute of Agricultural Research (IVIA), as the scientific research center of the Generalitat Valenciana, carries out programs aimed at training and specialization for university graduates. The goal is to help them acquire new skills and enhance their academic profile in areas related to research and the transfer of technology to the agri-food and livestock sectors of the Valencian Community.
In this context, thirty PhD contracts are being offered under the “Marisa Badenes” program for the recruitment of predoctoral research staff. These contracts will have a maximum duration of four years, non-renewable, and will require full-time dedication. The selection process will follow a merit-based evaluation system, assessing the qualifications and achievements submitted by applicants.
Among the research lines included in this call, two PhD projects stand out for their relevance to postharvest pathology and technology of fresh fruit. Specifically, project number 19 focuses on postharvest diseases of avocado, while project number 25 aims to develop new edible coatings with antifungal properties.

These contracts will be funded through budget line G.542G00.19001, fund FS21000019, which allocates €990,000 for the 2025 fiscal year. They are also co-funded by the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+) Program of the Valencian Community 2021–2027.
