Macfrut 2026 closed its 43rd edition by further consolidating its role as a leading international event for the global fruit and vegetable supply chain. The three-day event, held at the Rimini Expo Centre, confirmed a solid and growing trajectory. Overall visitor numbers increased, driven by strong international momentum, with foreign buyers from more than 80 countries and an increase of over 12% in international visitors.
This result reflects a well-established format that brought together 1,400 exhibitors and a wide network of themed exhibitions and dynamic areas. The organisers also highlighted collaboration with institutional partners, including the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), for its contribution to strengthening the presence of international markets through delegations from all continents, as well as AICS for its commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture.
The trade fair also featured a broad programme of high-level scientific conferences covering the entire fruit and vegetable supply chain, with the participation of international experts. During the opening ceremony, the launch of the Macfrut-Nomisma Fruit and Vegetable Observatory was also announced. Another highlight was the strong presence of Italian large-scale retail, whose participation is expected to grow further at the next edition.
Patrizio Neri, President of Cesena Fiera and organiser of Macfrut, stated:
"For next year, we have already introduced several new features, starting with a new exhibition layout that will make the event more accessible for visitors and buyers, while improving its effectiveness for exhibitors. We are also very satisfied with attendance levels and with the growing international profile of the trade fair."
Neri also announced that the organisers are in the final stage of signing a strategic agreement with Informa, organiser of Growtech, with the aim of strengthening this segment within Macfrut The next edition already has confirmed dates: the 44th edition of Macfrut 2027 will take place from 20 to 22 April 2027.
