Paclife has developed a comprehensive model that combines new-generation packaging, a thorough analysis of the logistics chain, and solutions tailored to each customer. ‘Data kills narrative,’ emphasises Cristian Parra, sales manager, underlining the importance of making decisions based on objective measurements rather than perceptions.

One of the pillars of this strategy is on-the-ground support, which includes a complete diagnosis from the orchard to the end consumer, identifying critical points associated with temperature, humidity and product handling.

Parra comments:

"It is often assumed that the cold chain is being maintained, but when we measure it, we discover different realities. A specific case occurred with an international customer: upon detecting low humidity levels upon receipt, a simple adjustment was made that prevented the loss of half a kilogram of fruit per pallet every three hours".

Innovation in packaging is part of the company's hallmark, as it uses recyclable materials made from polyethylene and polypropylene certified for food contact, while also validating compostable and biodegradable prototypes, anticipating the demand for more environmentally friendly solutions. Added to this is the development of Flow Pack and modified atmosphere and humidity control technologies, which optimise the post-harvest life of sensitive fruits such as cherries, blueberries, kiwis and grapes. The R&D department focuses on designing increasingly efficient packaging with a greater capacity to preserve the natural freshness of the product.

Parra highlights:

"In crops such as blueberries, Paclife's technology has managed to extend the fruit's shelf life to 150 days, keeping weight loss to a minimum — less than 0.7% — and ensuring outstanding firmness and bloom. In the case of early cherries, of which about 90% of Chilean production is destined for China, the packaging allows for a post-harvest life of between 45 and 60 days. We have achieved greener pedicels and up to 35% less browning in complex varieties."

Paclife in Fruit Attraction 2025

Between 30 September and 2 October, it will be present at Fruit Attraction, a key showcase for demonstrating how its packaging helps reduce waste, maintain quality during long-distance transport and respond to global demand for sustainable solutions.

More than just a packaging manufacturer, Paclife positions itself as a strategic ally for producers and exporters.

Parra emphasises:

"Our goal is not only to innovate, but to deliver real solutions that reduce food loss and ensure a better return for our customers. We invite you to join us in achieving post-harvest excellence".

With a vision that integrates innovation, sustainability and close support, Paclife reaffirms its purpose of transforming post-harvest into an opportunity for excellence and profitability. The company will continue to develop solutions that not only protect the fruit, but also add value to the entire chain, bringing Chile's freshness to the most demanding markets in the world.
