Sorma Group is attending Fruit Attraction demonstrating two new innovations set to make fruit handling faster, more precise and further automated. The Sorma Group, a leading technical partner for post-harvest handling and packaging, is located at Stand 3D22 – Hall P03 to showcase a wide variety of innovative technologies designed to improve profitability as well as sustainability across the fresh produce supply chain.
Among the world premieres, The Sorma Group is unveiling at the international trade fair in Madrid the EVA-700, a new pre-sizing machine that does away with manual sorting tables. Designed for direct installation on the production line, EVA-700 automates the rejection of overripe or unsuitable fruit before it proceeds further down the line. Thanks to greater sorting reliability and the automation of what was traditionally a manual task, the new technology delivers lower production costs, faster sorting and improved quality in the final packed product.
Also making its debut at Fruit Attraction 2026 is Ultra-Scan, technology developed by The Sorma Group to detect internal defects in fruit. The Ultra-Scan uses a scanning system capable of reaching the core of the fruit, all while maintaining speeds of up to 15 units per second. This allows the full reading range to be completed from the surface right through to the innermost flesh for a far more comprehensive assessment of the fruit's true quality.
Ultra-Scan joins a range of advanced quality-measurement systems for both internal and external characteristics introduced by The Sorma Group in recent years. These include Hyper Vision, which precisely grades fruit according to external features such as colour, shape, diameter and surface defects; BioScan, for measuring Brix levels, and PulpVision, for internal colour analysis in kiwifruit.
Sergio Alonso, Product Marketing Manager at Sorma Iberica:
"The latest products we are showcasing at Fruit Attraction, both developed at our Spanish subsidiary, are available across all our markets. These new additions demonstrate our ability to bring automation, leading-edge technology and sustainable solutions to a fresh produce sector that is more profitable, safer and ready for the future.”
The Sorma Groups packaging technologies are also featured prominently at Fruit Attraction. These include P&P-800, a pick-and-place solution that automates the placement of fruit into trays and boxes. Powered by a precision system supported by Sormatech-AI. P&P-800 reduces the number of production line workers needed, while improving process consistency, production efficiency, and the end-product presentation. Thanks to this level of automation, current packing facilities (particularly those running multiple shifts) could potentially recoup the investment in this machinery within a single season.
Sorma Clipless, the net packaging that requires no metal clips, is on display at Fruit Attraction. This solution simplifies package recycling and improves productivity during the packaging phase. It also provides greater durability, versatility and surface area for on-shelf communication as well as delivering excellent performance. Sorma Clipless is therefore, closely aligned with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which was implemented as of August 2026, provides solution not only to today’s requirements, but also tomorrow’s regulations. The ability to use different materials on the same technology will make it possible, should the need arise in future, to switch to compostable materials without having to replace the packaging system.
Silvia Albanese, Marketing Specialist at Sorma Group :
