TOMRA Food has announced its participation in Interpack 2026 (7–13 May), where it will showcase its latest advances in food sorting technology. The company will be located in Hall 5, Stand A41, where the European debut of the TOMRA 4C will take place, an optical sorting solution aimed at nut processors and IQF (individually quick frozen) applications.
Launched globally at the end of 2025, the TOMRA 4C is a free-fall sorter capable of running multiple artificial intelligence models simultaneously, combining LUCAi™ deep learning with traditional machine learning, delivering a high level of adaptability on the sorting line.
The machine is supplied pre-configured and ready for integration into both new and existing lines, with a plug-and-play approach designed for nut processors and IQF applications.
Designed to deliver significant operational improvements, the TOMRA 4C offers:
These capabilities allow food processors to optimize food safety, consistency and production capacity, even when product conditions vary throughout the season or between batches.
Functioning of the machine during the sorting process
The engineering of the TOMRA 4C prioritizes ease of use and reduced downtime, incorporating:
Kristof Franckx, Product Manager for TOMRA 4C, said:
"The TOMRA 4C is not just a machine; it is a smarter way to sort."
The combination of dual artificial intelligence, LED sensor technology and intuitive operation sets a new standard for processors seeking precision and efficiency.
Harald Henriksen, Executive Vice President and Head of TOMRA Food, described the launch as a step aimed at making it easier for the industry to benefit from artificial intelligence, combining high performance with operational simplicity.
Automated nut sorting process in the TOMRA 4C
TOMRA Food experts will be present throughout the event to demonstrate the TOMRA 4C, discuss sector challenges and analyze the role of AI-powered sorting in nut and IQF operations.
The company will participate in Interpack 2026 in Hall 5, Stand A41, where it will present its latest food sorting technology solutions.
