On June 21, UNITEC celebrated a historic milestone that summarizes a century of vision, commitment and growth: its 100th anniversary, made possible by the hard work and dedication of a team of 1,041 professionals operating in different countries around the world.
UNITEC's history began in 1924 in Massa Lombarda, with the creation of the world's first fruit sorting machine. Since then, the company has expanded its presence to more than 65 countries, consolidating its leadership with 100% Made in Italy technology.
This special anniversary coincided with another great icon of speed: the centenary of the Grand Prix. Two stories born in the same century and united by a common DNA based on speed, innovation, international vision and an extraordinary team spirit.
Among the featured guests, legendary Formula 1 driver Riccardo Patrese offered a valuable reflection on the parallels between sport and technology, speed and precision.
From its first patent to the sorting of 400 billion fruits per year, and today with the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence in its systems, every advance made by UNITEC has been possible thanks to the talent, passion and dedication of the people who, day after day, contribute to achieving excellence.
UNITEC expressed its deep gratitude to its entire team and their families, as well as to the Emilia-Romagna Region, to President Michele de Pascale -who inaugurated the commemorative event-, to the Mayor of Lugo Elena Zannoni, to the academic world, to the scientific committee, to the numerous foundations and associations present, and to all those who accompanied the company in this significant celebration.
