Fruit Attraction, organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, confirmed the strong commercial momentum of its upcoming edition during the latest meeting of its Organizing Committee. Fair Director María José Sánchez announced that the event has already exceeded the total exhibition space occupied in 2025, adding more than 2,000 additional square meters.

The 18th edition of the trade fair, taking place from 6 to 8 October, is expected to welcome more than 2,500 companies, occupy 162,000 square meters, and attract over 121,000 professionals from 150 countries, reinforcing its position as one of the world's leading international events for the fruit and vegetable sector.

Spain's position as a global leader in the fruit and vegetable industry will be reflected by the participation of all of the country's fruit- and vegetable-producing autonomous communities. The international presence will also be strengthened with the addition of new exhibiting countries, including Armenia, Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Ireland, the British Virgin Islands, Japan, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Sweden, and Tunisia, further expanding the diversity of exhibitors and the fair's global business reach.

Alongside its extensive exhibition offering, Fruit Attraction will once again place innovation and knowledge at the heart of its value proposition. Applications are now open for the Innovation Hub Awards, which recognize the sector's most innovative and sustainable products, services, and solutions. Exhibitors and co-exhibitors may submit their entries until 2 September.

Registration is also open for the Best Stand Awards, sponsored by WAH, which recognize creativity, innovation, and sustainability in stand design. The awards are open to exhibitors participating with custom-designed stands, with the application deadline also set for 2 September.

Factoría Chef will once again serve as Fruit Attraction's dynamic culinary showcase, providing Fresh Produce exhibitors with the opportunity to demonstrate the gastronomic potential of their products through live cooking demonstrations. Registration closes on September 27th.

Potatoes take center stage at Fruit Attraction 2026

This year's featured product will be the potato, recognized as a strategic crop for its contribution to food security and healthy diets. On 5 October, the day before the exhibition opens, FEPEX will organize the First International Potato Symposium, aimed at revitalizing the sector in response to declining production and cultivated area across the European Union. The symposium will also highlight the potato's strategic role in food security while encouraging collaboration and knowledge exchange among industry stakeholders.

Fruit Attraction will also bring back the Organic Tour, a specially signposted route designed to increase the visibility of exhibitors offering certified organic products.

The event will continue to strengthen its international business platform through the International Buyers Programme, organized in collaboration with Spain's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX, and FEPEX. The initiative will welcome 700 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers, and wholesalers from more than 50 countries. In addition, this year's Guest Importing Countries Programme will feature China and the United Arab Emirates.

As in previous editions, Fruit Attraction will host an extensive programme of technical conferences and industry forums featuring leading experts and a wide range of topics. Highlights include the Avocado Congress and the Biofruit Congress.

Organized by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, Fruit Attraction 2026 will take place from Tuesday, 6 October, to Thursday, 8 October, with opening hours from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and until 4:00 p.m. on the final day.
