GIRÓ Group has released a new edition of its corporate magazine, bringing together some of the main areas of development for the fresh produce sector. Presented in the context of Fruit Logistica 2026, the publication offers an overview of the company’s latest work in automation, packaging machinery, sustainability and new formats, with a focus on solutions designed for current packinghouse needs.
Held in Berlin from February 4 to 6, the trade fair served as a platform for a publication that goes beyond summarising the company’s presence at the event, structuring and expanding on its most recent developments and strategic lines. On its cover, GIRÓ introduces the magazine as a compilation of its latest innovations, including its sustainability strategy, new packaging solutions and an integrated automation case for grape packing developed together with Serfruit.
One of the main sections of the magazine focuses on automation and the evolution of packaging equipment. In this area, GIRÓ highlights its collaboration with Serfruit, presenting an integrated solution for grape packing facilities that covers different stages of the process and reflects a shift towards more connected, coordinated and efficient systems.
Additional machinery developments are also presented, including improvements in automatic clipping machines through the integration of the GirPrint E400TT labelling system and the new GIRGUI interface. These upgrades are described as part of an ongoing effort to simplify operation, improve system reliability and provide more competitive solutions for daily packing operations.
Among the developments featured in this edition is Horizon Line, a packaging solution designed for the horizontal weighing and net packaging of delicate and elongated vegetables such as zucchinis, eggplants, cucumbers and peppers.
According to the publication, this solution addresses a segment where automation remains complex and often still relies heavily on manual handling. Its relevance lies in tackling a specific operational challenge: reducing labour dependency in delicate handling processes, improving weighing consistency and enabling viable automation in segments where it has been difficult to implement.
Sustainability is another key focus of the magazine. GIRÓ outlines its strategy based on three pillars aligned with environmental, social and governance dimensions, linked to its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.
This approach is also reflected in its products. The magazine reviews the evolution of net packaging, a solution closely associated with the company, and presents different ranges adapted to current market demands, including optimized plastics, compostable options and cellulosic solutions.
In this context, GirClip is introduced as a plastic clip designed to replace metal staples, enabling fully plastic net packaging solutions with improved recyclability.
Through this publication, GIRÓ uses the magazine format to bring together both specific developments in machinery and materials, as well as its broader vision for the future of fresh produce packaging. Rather than a purely corporate document, it provides a structured overview of how the company is positioning itself in automation, sustainability and technical specialization within the sector.
