GIRÓ upgrades its automatic clipping machines with the new GirPrint E400TT and GIRGUI screen

GIRÓ has developed an upgraded system for its CA-9S and CA-10 automatic clipping machines featuring two main innovations: the GirPrint E400TT label printer, which replaces the E300TT model, and the new GIRGUI control screen.

These improvements have been designed to simplify operators’ work, increase system reliability, and facilitate loading, printing, adjustment and maintenance operations. According to the company in its GIRÓ Magazine 2026, the new system is also offered at a more competitive price than the previous solution.

Simpler loading and more stable printing

The GirPrint E400TT introduces changes to the different modules involved in label feeding, printing and dispensing.

In the unwinding module, the positioning and centring of new rolls have been simplified, while the label path to the printing area has been shortened and streamlined. This allows operators to load a new roll without having to splice it to the previous one.

The printing module features a new cassette that facilitates ribbon feeding and reloading. In addition, the single-motor clutch system used in the E300TT has been replaced by two independent motors: one for unwinding and the other for rewinding. This configuration keeps ribbon tension and speed constant from the beginning to the end of the roll, resulting in more stable printing.

The printhead is driven by a motor and features a tilting system that automatically adjusts to the substrate. This distributes pressure evenly across the full width of the label, producing sharper and more consistent prints.

Reducing the pressure applied to the printhead also extends its service life by up to 50% compared with the previous model, increasing it from approximately 500,000 labels to more than 750,000. The electronics box has also been integrated into the printing module itself, eliminating external cables and simplifying installation.

Fewer queued labels and faster format changes

GIRÓ has also redesigned the injector and dispensing module. The buffer located between the output of the printed labels and their injection into the clipping head has been reduced from 16 labels in the E300TT to just six in the new GirPrint E400TT. This reduction helps minimise label waste during print changes.

The simplified injector system also improves accessibility and facilitates adaptation to different label lengths, making format changes faster.

A larger and more intuitive GIRGUI screen

The upgrade to the CA-9S and CA-10 clipping machines is completed by the new GIRGUI control screen. Its size has increased from 7 to 10 inches to make information easier to read and view.

The interface has been designed to help operators familiarise themselves quickly with the system and carry out routine adjustments more easily and efficiently.

At the time the magazine was published, GIRÓ had several pre-series units installed and undergoing validation in the Spanish market. The company expected the upgraded CA-9S and CA-10 models to enter series production from mid-2026 onwards.
