Giró Group, an organisation with more than a century of history and a firm commitment to quality since its inception, has established itself as the global market leader in packaging and automation systems for the fruit and vegetable sector. Its raison d'être is to offer comprehensive solutions that ensure the efficient and sustainable management of food throughout the entire value chain, from reception in the warehouse to final palletising.

In this context, Giró Group is taking a decisive step forward with the presentation of its 2024 Sustainability Report, a report that places corporate responsibility at the heart of its strategic vision.

Sustainable leadership and commitment roadmap

The report, which follows rigorous GRI Standards, acts as the key platform for communicating the company's impact and objectives. The message from Ezequiel Giró Amigó, Chairman of the Group, highlights that sustainability is an essential element of the strategy, driving innovation and progress towards a circular business model with a positive and lasting impact.

The Report is based on a rigorous double materiality analysis, which has enabled the company to define its sustainability roadmap with clear and aspirational goals. In addition, Giró formalises its global and ethical approach by aligning its strategy with the UN Global Compact (Sustainable Development Goals).

Pillars of the strategy for an efficient future

Giró's strategy is structured around three main areas that demonstrate its cross-cutting action in the value chain:

  • For a Better Planet (Environment). The circular economy and the fight against climate change are priorities. The Group drives innovation to develop automation and packaging solutions that optimise resources and minimise the ecological footprint.
  • For a Better Society (Team and Society). The well-being of the team is key. Safe, healthy and inclusive work environments are promoted, and an active social commitment to local communities is maintained.
  • For a Better Business (Governance and Ethics). Ethical and responsible leadership is ensured, extending the commitment to quality throughout the value chain through compliance models and robust management.

With the publication of this 2024 Sustainability Report, Giró Group consolidates its position as a global benchmark that combines automation, innovation and responsibility to build a more sustainable future in the post-harvest sector.
