Banana with 48 to 60 hours more postharvest life with innovative ripening system

The central fruit and vegetable market in Montevideo counts on pretty new place and buildings, inaugurated a year ago, the UAM, Unidad Agroalimentaria Metropolitana. One of the companies enjoying of new installations is Ciro Gentile, a main player in the exotic fruit business. What has changed is how the fruit ripens. You can see the change in the color that the banana takes once it ripens, it acquires a much brighter color. Our customers are very satisfied, however, in terms of growth, it is still too early to see it, because 4 months is not indicative", concluded Franco Gentile.
