New methods for safer food by Analytica Alimentaria

Dealing with food safety peace of mind for producers, retailers and consumers has become crucial. This is what drives our work at Analytica Alimentaria: With our services of inspection, sampling, analysis and consulting, we help them to make food safe. Food safety is everything but routine. Of all cases in which hazardous residues have been found in food in the last couple of years, none would have been detected by routine methods at that time. We have adapted a breakthrough technology for food safety, allowing us to tackle acute and evolving risks: Q-TOF INN: Target screening of critical post-harvest products Full-scan method developed to identify and quantitate the use of illegal post-harvest products and fungicides on the surface (peel) of fruits and vegetables or in plant protection products.

We have adapted a breakthrough technology for food safety, allowing us to tackle acute and evolving risks: Q-TOF INN: Target screening of critical post-harvest productsFull-scan method developed to identify and quantitate the use of illegal post-harvest products and fungicides on the surface (peel) of fruits and vegetables or in plant protection products. Samples are analyzed by targeted LC-Q-TOF-MS regarding the following substances: Polyhexanide, Dichlorophene, Hexachlorophene, Alexidine, Chlorhexidine, Miconazole, Isoconazole, Econazole, Itraconazol, Ketoconazol, Guazatines.  Multi-Q-TOF: Quick screening for pesticides that are not approved in the EUFull-scan method developed for the quick screening of a list of critical molecules not approved in the European Union like Nereistoxines, botanical Insecticides and plant-growth regulators in fruits and vegetables, fertilizers or plant protection products. This innovation allows us to offer new and highly individual services. It is especially useful for detecting and preventing the use of illegal substances. We can now flexibly adapt our analyses to newly evolving risks in day-to-day production and trade of fruit and vegetables. In short: Bensultap, Cartap, Thiosultap-Natrium, Thiocyclam, Nereistoxin, MatrinOxymatrin, Chlormequat, Mepiquat, Anabasine, Nicotine, Nornicotine, Sanguinarine General Unknow Screening (GUN): Identifying and verifying previously unknown substancesQualitative method for detection, screening and identification of a large number of toxic substances using a database of selected compounds and a library of accurate MS/MS spectra (> 4000 entries). This screening method compares accurate mass and MS/MS measurements with a database and library of MS/MS spectra of more than 4000 compounds of toxicological, forensic, pesticides, alkaloids and other toxic reagents. Identification using a library of MS/MS reduces the number of false positives and allows to detect any compound ionized in the LC/MS system that is present in the library.
