PHILABUSTER®, by Janssen PMP, combines the active ingredients imazalil sulfate and pyrimethanil, two fungicides with different modes of action and a high level of efficacy.  In the case of citrus fruits, PHILABUSTER® has been developed as a tool for anti-resistance management offering two active ingredients with different modes of action against the main pathogens. The active ingredients show synergistic effects against a variety of pathogens and as a result it offers a high-level control of a broad spectrum of postharvest diseases. The product offers as well a preventive, curative as anti-sporulation activity.  Mode of action The biochemical mode of action of the combination product PHILABUSTER® is related to its two active ingredients. Pyrimethanil is an anilinopyrimidine fungicide (Group 9) that interferes with the secretion of enzymes necessary for infection by several postharvest pathogens, while imazalil sulfate is an imidazole fungicide (Group 3) that inhibits sterol synthesis thus affecting cell wall permeability. As a consequence, PHILABUSTER® is a fungicide with preventive, curative and anti-sporulant activity.  SourcePhilabuster brochure
