For more than seven years, Paclife has been a protagonist in the incorporation of FlowPack technology to fruit packaging in Chile, developing its own solutions to meet the logistical, operational and conservation challenges at destination. In a country where fresh fruit exports demand high levels of efficiency and quality, packaging automation has become a strategic factor for the sector's competitiveness.
The initial implementation focused on blueberries, with off-line lines and unit formats of 4.4 oz and 6 oz. The choice of these formats responded to clear technical objectives: to reduce the use of secondary materials, improve operational efficiency and, above all, ensure optimum conservation at destination. The positive results in export markets, together with the performance of the equipment, favored the adoption and expansion of this technology.
As the market evolved, the need arose to expand formats, increase productivity and offer greater flexibility. In response, Paclife incorporated multi-format equipment capable of adapting without compromising packaging speed and accuracy. Today, its systems operate with unit presentations, multiple presentations (3, 6 or 12 units), and complex formats such as 12-unit pints, bulk boxes or 18 oz. containers grouped in 4 units. In addition, solutions have been developed for larger fruits, such as cherries in 2.5 kg packages, and firmer products such as apples, grapes, asparagus and vegetables.
A fundamental technical component in these packaging lines is the use of BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) film. This material combines transparency, mechanical strength and excellent sealing capacity, allowing operating speeds that exceed those of other systems. In individual formats, up to 120 packages per minute are achieved, and in larger formats, 40 continuous cycles per minute are maintained, figures that have been key to consolidate the presence of the technology not only in Chile, but also in Peru, where the equipment is used in different production regions.
Paclife's FlowPack solutions are integrated with a full-service approach, including installation, training and ongoing technical support. The equipment incorporates intelligent sensors that protect the integrity of the fruit during processing, while specialist technicians not only master the operation of the machinery, but work with the customer to adapt the system to their specific processes and optimize overall line performance.
Paclife's approach goes beyond the supply of machinery. The company offers a comprehensive solution from packaging line design to commissioning and after-sales support. This vision allows FlowPack systems to integrate harmoniously into the customer's operation, bringing real value in both technical and commercial terms.
Today, FlowPack technology represents an evolution in the way fruit and vegetable packaging is conceived: efficiency with care, speed without aggressiveness and automation with technical support. With this philosophy, Paclife continues to develop solutions adapted to the field, validated in the field and supported by the most demanding export standards in the region.
