A new fruit season is approaching in Peru, bringing with it a set of challenges that we at PACLIFE Peru face with enthusiasm and commitment. Once again, production, logistics, operations, and especially postharvest handling become the core of our efforts to ensure Peruvian fruit successfully reaches and thrives in global markets.
The 2024 season taught us important lessons. We faced demanding standards but also made significant strides in efficiency and quality, solidifying our role as strategic allies for the country's producers and exporters. Now, as we look toward the upcoming campaign, we are doubling down on our commitment to innovation and technological development as key pillars to sustain and enhance the global competitiveness of Peruvian fruit.
One of the most significant advances in the postharvest area has been the consolidation of our automated flowpack system—a highly sought-after solution for its ability to increase sealing and dispatch speed, directly reducing operational costs. In the case of blueberries, this technology is already being applied on a large scale, with excellent results and a very positive reception from international receivers.
We have also begun testing flowpack technology on table grapes, achieving more than satisfactory results. Our projection for this season is clear: to move from pilot testing to stable commercial shipments to various destinations, confirming that this technology is a viable and powerful alternative for multiple fruit types.
In addition, we’ve seen growing demand for our harvest and export covers, available with different ventilation levels. Their goal is simple: to reduce fruit dehydration during handling and shipping, preserving quality at every stage and ensuring it arrives in optimal condition.
That’s our core philosophy: the fruit is what matters most. Behind every box are months of hard work, investment, and dedication. That’s why PACLIFE is fully committed to developing R&D solutions. We know that providing high-quality materials—tested and adapted to real-world conditions—is essential to ensuring that fruit returns truly reflect the year-long effort behind them.
This effort becomes even more relevant when we consider Peru’s current role on the global stage, consolidating its position as one of the world's top fresh fruit exporters, with blueberries, grapes, mangoes, citrus, and avocados playing a leading role. According to recent data, over 90% of fruit production destined for export goes to the United States, Europe, and Asia, with China, the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom as key trade partners.
This global reach demands increasingly higher standards. That’s why PACLIFE Peru will continue advancing with practical solutions, technical support, and close collaboration with our clients. We believe that lasting relationships and true value in fruit come from quality, freshness, and the ability to represent the best of our country in the world’s most demanding markets.
Are we on the brink of an intense new season? Yes—but also one full of opportunity. And we are ready to seize every one of them, hand-in-hand with those who share our passion for doing things right—from the field to the final consumer.
