Poscosecha.com and Postharvest.biz will take an editorial break from 7 to 23 August. On Monday 24 August, we will resume publishing news on the storage, handling, packaging, processing, logistics and marketing of fruit and vegetables.

We would like to thank our readers, companies, researchers and collaborators for following our work and sharing information with us over the past few months.

The 5th Postharvest Citrus Conference on 17 September

One of the first major events after the summer break will be the 5th Postharvest Citrus Conference, which will take place in Valencia on 17 September 2026 and will be available both in person and online.

The conference will once again bring together professionals, companies and researchers to review the latest citrus season, discuss forecasts for the upcoming campaign and present technologies and solutions for citrus postharvest management.

Sustainability at the heart of the 2026 publication

We are also preparing Novedades en Poscosecha y Tecnología Hortícola 2026, a publication that will bring together solutions, projects and initiatives developed by companies and institutions involved in horticultural production and postharvest.

This edition will place particular emphasis on sustainability and will feature initiatives related to water and energy management, the use of materials, resource efficiency, loss reduction and other areas currently being addressed by the sector.

A new format for the Postharvest Technology Course

Preparations have also begun for the 10th Postharvest Technology Course – Citrus and Emerging Crops in the Mediterranean Region.

In addition to synchronous online training, which allows participants to attend live classes and interact with the lecturers, an asynchronous online option is also being considered for those unable to connect at the scheduled times.

Dates and further details will be announced shortly.

Until then, the Poscosecha.com and Postharvest.biz teams wish you a wonderful summer holiday and, to those reading us from the Southern Hemisphere, a pleasant winter and beginning of spring. We will be back on 24 August.
