As the Christmas season approaches, the Postharvest team would like to sincerely thank you for the trust and support you have shown us throughout 2025. It has been a year of intense activity, new projects, collaborations and progress that reinforce our commitment to the horticultural sector and encourage us to continue working with enthusiasm.
We will return on 7 January 2026 with our usual daily coverage of technologies related to the preservation, processing, packaging and marketing of fruit and vegetables. As always, you can follow us on Postharvest.biz and through our weekly newsletters, Postharvest News, published every Monday.
In this final newsletter of the year, we would like to share with you a summary of the main milestones achieved in 2025, as well as a preview of the new developments and projects planned for 2026, a year we face with new challenges and opportunities to continue adding value to the sector.
In January, we presented the latest edition of the Postharvest Directory of Innovations, a comprehensive international compilation highlighting the main innovations and technological developments in the postharvest sector. Published at the beginning of the year, this edition focuses on technology, innovation and sustainability, offering an up-to-date overview of the trends and solutions transforming the industry.
Thanks to its practical and current approach, it has become an essential reference tool for technicians, companies and R&D managers seeking to improve efficiency and innovation in postharvest processes.
We have also continued to promote Postharvest Novelties and Tecnología Hortícola in Spanish, bringing technological and commercial innovation closer to the Spanish-speaking community. With up-to-date and accessible technical content, these publications showcase sector solutions and developments, providing visibility to innovative companies and projects and consolidating their position as a key reference for professionals interested in the latest trends and advances in the horticultural and postharvest fields.
In 2025, we held a new edition of the Postharvest Technology Course, organised in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This programme, available both in person and online via streaming, brings together leading academic and industry experts to deliver a comprehensive curriculum covering preservation, quality, pathology, sustainability and innovation in horticultural products.
The course provides practical tools and up-to-date knowledge that enable professionals to optimise processes, improve product quality and implement innovative solutions in their projects. A unique opportunity to learn from sector leaders and stay at the forefront of postharvest best practices.
Take advantage of the opportunity and register for the next edition.
In 2025, a new edition of the Postharvest Citrus Conference was held, further consolidating its role as a key meeting point for the citrus sector. The event reviewed previous campaigns, presented technical innovations and research results, and encouraged exchange between growers, technicians, researchers and companies.
This conference strengthens knowledge transfer and technical debate around one of the most important Mediterranean crops, providing attendees with tools and insights to improve efficiency, quality and sustainability in citrus postharvest management.
From Postharvest.biz, we wish you a Merry Christmas and an excellent start to the new postharvest.bizyear. Thank you for being with us and for being part of our community.
See you in 2026, ready to keep moving forward together!
