POSTHARVEST.BIZ

Summer break is here!

Disconnect to reconnect. Everyone needs a few days off to recharge their batteries and return to work with more energy. That's why Postharvest.biz will be closed for summer holidays from August 4th to August 20th. We will be back on the 21st with all the most relevant and fresh information about the sector. We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that if you have not yet subscribed to our weekly newsletter, Postharvest News (Monday), you can sign up for free HERE and stay up to date with all the most important news in the sector.

2nd Citrus Postharvest ConferenceThe Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (IVIA) and Poscosecha.com are organizing the 2nd Citrus Postharvest Conference, which will take place on Thursday, September 14th at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium of IVIA (Valencia / Spain). The objective of the event is to conduct a commercial and technical analysis of the previous campaign and present the forecasts and commercial innovations in postharvest for the upcoming citrus campaign. ATTENTION: This is a FREE EVENT available both IN-PERSON and ONLINE. In-person tickets are limited, so registration through THIS link is appreciated. Currently, we already have more than 340 registered participants, and there are very few spots left available for the in-person option. We take this opportunity to thank the sponsoring companies of the Conference: AgroFresh, Apeel Sciences, Aquqctiva, Brandt, Catalytic Generators, Citrosol, Decco, Domca, Eurosemillas, Felix Instruments, Greefa, Maf Roda, Microgaia, Sanifruit, Tarazona, Xeda Ibérica, UNIQ, and Zerya. VII Postharvest Technology Course - Citrus and Emerging Crops in the Mediterranean Region (Spanish Version)Once again, we are excited to announce that we are already working on the seventh edition of the Postharvest Technology Course - Citrus and emerging crops in the Mediterranean region. The course is scheduled to take place at the Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) at the beginning of 2024. Following the success of last year's edition, this year we are offering both on-site and online formats. The challenges brought about by the pandemic have had negative impacts, but they have also presented opportunities for us to update and improve our teaching methods. For this reason, we will continue to provide the course in a streaming format, allowing individuals who are unable to travel to Valencia to participate in the course. This includes attendees from different parts of Spain and anyone interested in enhancing their knowledge of citrus fruits from anywhere in the world. The classes will be recorded, enabling course participants to access and enjoy them at their convenience.   Publication of the book "Envasado sostenible de frutas y hortalizas"We are also working on the publication of the book "Envasado sostenible de frutas y hortalizas", which focuses on recent developments and technologies aimed at enhancing sustainability in the fresh produce packaging industry. The publication is a free online document available in Spanish language, catering to readers from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. Distinguished researchers and professionals in the sector cover a wide range of topics, including legislation, characteristics and benefits of packaging in wood and paper, conventional and recyclable plastic materials, modified atmosphere packaging, machinery, and recycling technologies. The book is still open for participation and we encourage all companies to contribute with their knowledge and sponsorship. The Postharvest Team wishes you a happy summer break, and if you are reading this from the southern hemisphere, Happy winter!
