At ULMA Packaging, we know that the packaging sector is increasingly influenced by strict environmental regulations, especially regarding material use and waste management.

That's why we develop solutions that help our customers adapt to these requirements effectively. Our equipment can work with a wide variety of materials, including recyclable plastics and alternatives compatible with the paper recycling loop. This makes the transition to more sustainable packaging easier without sacrificing process efficiency.

100% recyclable Flow Pack packaging for Conference Pears in cardboard trays with paper film and a mesh net

To highlight the versatility of our machines and our commitment to sustainability, at this year's Fruit Attraction, we will present a 100% recyclable fruit packaging solution. In this case, the solution features pears packaged in a cardboard tray with a paper film and a grid made of bamboo mesh, all created using our FR 200 Flow Pack wrapper.

FR 200 has proven to be an ideal Flow Pack solution for fresh produce packaging. Its compact design allows it to be easily integrated into existing lines without sacrificing high productive performance.

Thanks to its flexibility, it's perfect for fruits and vegetables, with or without a tray. Additionally, it is compatible with sustainable films (recyclable, compostable, or paper-based), which allows it to adapt to future packaging requirements.

Packaging Fruits and Vegetables in Recyclable Cardboard Trays for Traysealing

Regarding traysealing, we will showcase a solution for packaging fruits in recyclable cardboard trays sealed with compostable film (cellulose). This will be done using our TSA 680 tray sealer.

Thanks to this application, we can optimize material usage in tray-sealed products, resulting in a significant reduction in plastic without compromising the protection or functionality of the package. This is another step in ULMA Packaging's commitment to offering more efficient and sustainable solutions.

Our TSA 680 P tray sealer, designed to meet the demands of the fruit and vegetable sector, stands out for its high performance (with a capacity of up to 120 trays per minute, depending on the type and size of the tray) and its versatility in material usage. It can work with RPET, cardboard, or compostable trays, as well as recyclable top films, allowing producers to adapt to sustainability regulations without sacrificing efficiency.

Smart Equipment for the Fruit and Vegetable Sector

At this year's event, we will be presenting significant technological advancements applied to our packaging equipment. These innovations are focused on giving our clients greater process control, more efficient resource management, and advanced connectivity with their production systems.

1. Consumption Measurement System: Total Real-Time Visibility

We've integrated a system that allows for real-time monitoring of air, gas, electricity, and film consumption on our packaging machines.

This information can be viewed by shift, production order, or film type, making data comparison and analysis easier. This functionality helps users determine the real cost of supplies per tray, allowing them to optimize resources, reduce costs, and improve the energy efficiency of their facilities.

2.Centralized recipe management: efficiency and coordination in line

Our machines have a built-in system that lets you manage all the packaging line recipes from a single point. This automatically adjusts the settings on all the machines to match the selected recipe. This feature speeds up recipe changes and prevents human errors. The recipe can be selected manually, with a barcode reader, or automatically from your ERP or SCADA system.

3. Automatic Reporting System: Key Information, Where and When You Need It

Finally, we have integrated a new system that generates automatic PDF reports with key information on equipment performance (OEE), consumption, and traceability. The reports can be configured by order, shift, or day, stored on the machine (up to 1,000 records), and automatically sent to the client's FTP server or to MyULMA, making it easy to analyze and access the information remotely.
