From November 11 to 13, 2025, the city of Shizuoka, Japan, will host the 6th Asia Symposium on Quality Management in Postharvest Systems (ASQP2025) at the Shizuoka Convention & Arts Center “GRANSHIP”. This will be the first time the symposium is held in Japan.

Since its inaugural edition in 2012 at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand, ASQP has become a key forum for experts across Asia and beyond to share knowledge and advances in postharvest systems. It was subsequently held in Laos PDR (2013), Cambodia (2015), Korea (2017), and once again at KMUTT (2021).

A Forum for Scientific Exchange and Innovation

ASQP2025 will bring together leading researchers, early-career scientists, undergraduate and graduate students, and industry professionals to present innovations, exchange ideas, and discuss the future of postharvest quality management.

The symposium program will include:

  • Keynote lectures
  • Oral presentations
  • Poster sessions
  • Topical discussions and networking opportunities

Scientific Topics

The event will cover a broad range of subjects related to postharvest systems, including:

  • Postharvest Physiology and Biochemistry
  • Postharvest Molecular Biology
  • Postharvest Pathology
  • Postharvest Processing and Technology
  • Postharvest Bioinformatics
  • New Preservation and Processing Technologies
  • Biosynthesis of Bioactive Compounds
  • Regulatory Mechanisms of Physiological Disorders
  • Novel Techniques for Controlling Postharvest Diseases
  • Molecular Mechanisms of Ripening and Senescence
  • Fresh-Cut Technology
  • Seed Technology

These themes reflect the symposium’s multidisciplinary approach and its focus on both fundamental science and applied solutions.
