The Citrocide® Fresh-Cut technology, developed by Citrosol to ensure a hygienic, safe and sustainable washing process for minimally processed fruits and vegetables, took center stage at the KRONEN Customer Day 2025. The event, held on September 25–26 in Kehl am Rhein, gathered over 200 participants from 45 countries and served as an international showcase for the company to highlight its commitment to innovation and food safety in the fresh-cut industry.
At the technical forum on hygiene, quality and automation, Dr. Martín Mottura from Citrosol delivered the presentation “Water management and food safety in postharvest washing operations.” He analyzed the current state of water management in washing processes in the fresh-cut industry, drawing on the latest findings published by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). During his presentation, Mottura explained how Citrosol’s integrated Citrocide® Fresh-Cut system ensures the hygienic washing of minimally processed fruits and vegetables, effectively and sustainably enhancing food safety.
The Customer Day 2025, organized by KRONEN, a global leader in fruit and vegetable processing machinery, combined live demonstrations across an exhibition area of more than 3,000 m² with technical presentations and networking sessions. Citrosol had its own stand, where it presented innovative technologies for the fresh-cut industry, reinforcing its commitment to food safety, sustainability and process efficiency.
Attendees praised the event’s professional yet friendly atmosphere and highlighted the value of seeing the most advanced technological solutions in action while speaking directly with engineers and developers.
The event once again underscored the role of KRONEN and its partners, including Citrosol, as global benchmarks in innovation for fresh food processing, consolidating their position as a showcase of solutions that define the future of automation and sustainable fruit and vegetable production.
