Cooling

High temperatures can affect both worker comfort and the day-to-day operation of warehouses, logistics centres, fruit and vegetable packhouses and other large facilities. To provide targeted cooling in areas with the highest heat loads, Met Mann has developed the FR-15 Pro, a portable evaporative cooler designed to operate in open or continuously ventilated spaces.

The unit combines four functions: cooling, ventilation, humidification and filtration. Its mobile design allows it to be moved between different areas as production requirements, workflows or heat exposure change throughout the day.

 

Evaporative cooling without refrigerant gases

The FR-15 Pro draws in warm air and passes it through 5090-type evaporative pads, which are kept wet by an internal pump. As the water evaporates, it absorbs part of the heat and lowers the air temperature before the cooled air is released back into the space.

As it does not use compressors or refrigerant gases, the system is intended for large premises where installing conventional air conditioning may be complex or impractical.

The unit can achieve an indicative reduction of between 10 and 15°C in the discharged air and provide coverage of up to 400 m². Actual performance depends on factors such as outdoor temperature and humidity, the height and ventilation of the building and the internal heat load.

 

Mobility for warehouses and working areas

The cooler does not require doors and windows to remain closed, allowing it to be used in warehouses, handling and packing areas, order preparation zones, loading bays and distribution centres.

In fruit and vegetable facilities, it is intended to improve thermal conditions in working areas rather than replace the cold rooms used for produce storage.

The unit only requires a single-phase electricity supply and a water connection. Its polyamide tank has a capacity of 200 litres and provides up to five hours of operating autonomy.

The base is fitted with swivel castors, a safety brake and a handle, making it easier to move between different parts of the facility. It can be supplied with air discharge in one or two directions or with a vertical duct, while the SWING system automatically moves the louvres to increase air distribution.

 

Control, filtration and hygiene

The FR-15 Pro incorporates temperature and humidity controls, together with a variable-frequency drive that allows airflow to be adjusted according to the requirements of each area.

A G4 filter helps retain particles and impurities. The unit can also be equipped with the UV Water Cleaning system, which uses ultraviolet light to limit microbial growth within the water circuit.

Its main technical specifications include an airflow of 13,511 m³/h, a 2.20 kW IE3 motor with IP55 protection and 100 mm-thick evaporative pads. The unit measures 1,135 x 1,135 x 1,985 mm and weighs 210 kg without water and 410 kg with a full tank.

The FR-15 Pro provides targeted cooling in large facilities and allows the unit to be moved to the areas where it is most needed at any given time.
