Naturipe Farms has taken a significant step toward revitalizing the berry category by launching a comprehensive commercial plan. The strategy combines the marketing of premium fruit lines with the implementation of packaging solutions designed to maximize shelf life and meet the environmental requirements of major retailers and end consumers.

Focusing on the gourmet segment and the consumer experience

To boost profitability per square meter of shelf space, the company has concentrated its efforts on selecting specific varieties of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries at the source:

  • Superior organoleptic qualities: Fruit selected based on strict criteria regarding firmness, large size, and an ideal balance of acidity and sweetness throughout the supply season.
  • Reduced losses at the point of sale: Selection of plant varieties with greater physical resilience, preventing fruit collapse during transport and extending freshness in the home.
  • Visual differentiation: Presentation designed to drive impulse purchases through packaging that highlights the natural appeal and characteristic sheen of the berries.

Packaging engineering: active preservation and reduced plastic use

In the packaging sector, the company is advancing toward the decarbonization of its processes by redesigning its iconic containers:

  • Low-impact materials: Introduction of formats (clamshells) made with high percentages of recycled plastic (rPET) and thin-wall structures that reduce the packaging's total weight.
  • Micro-ventilation optimization: Strategic perforation systems that ensure constant airflow, preventing excess internal moisture and controlling fungal growth.
  • Clear sustainability communication: Inclusion of graphic information regarding the container's recyclability and the responsible origin of the agricultural produce.

Revitalizing the retail channel

This comprehensive update provides distributors with a high-turnover product that directly addresses two of the sector's key challenges: building customer loyalty through consistent quality and reducing plastic impact in the fresh produce section.

Naturipe Farms will leverage its presence at the 2026 IFPA (International Fresh Produce Association) global event to officially showcase the expansion of its premium berry variety selection programs and its latest advances in sustainable packaging, thereby solidifying its commercial offering to major buyers and distributors in the international fresh produce industry.
