From January 21 to March 6, 2026, the 9th Edition of the Postharvest Technology Course – Citrus and Emerging Crops in the Mediterranean Region will be held, jointly presented by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Agronómica y del Medio Natural (ETSIAMN), and Poscosecha.com.
With a strongly practical focus and a well-established track record, the course has become a landmark event for professionals, technicians, and students in the fruit and vegetable sector who are interested in the latest trends in postharvest innovation, sustainability, and quality management.
Over six intensive weeks, attendees will have the opportunity to update their knowledge, discover new technologies, and delve into strategies to improve the preservation, processing, and packaging of fruits and vegetables, with special attention to crops typical of the Mediterranean region.
The program will comprehensively address the technology for preserving, processing, and packaging products such as citrus, persimmon, avocado, kiwi, pomegranate, stone fruit, berries, nuts, and vegetables.
The goal is to maintain the quality and safety of fresh products by applying innovative strategies that help reduce food waste and postharvest losses.
The course will feature contributions from more than thirty researchers and experts from UPV and other prestigious institutions, along with specialists from leading companies in postharvest technology.
The combination of scientific knowledge, professional experience, and practical application makes this program a high-value technical training designed to meet the real-world challenges of the fruit and vegetable sector.
The course is aimed at professionals in the fruit and vegetable sector—technicians; quality, R&D, production or marketing managers—as well as managers and staff of packinghouses and cooperatives, technology providers, and university students who wish to specialize in this strategic area.
In previous editions, more than 50 participants from Spain and Latin America have taken part in this initiative, consolidating an international forum for knowledge exchange and professional development.
