This 2025 marks a stage of renewal for the Postharvest Community (Comunidad Poscosecha). The team has changed, and with it, a new phase opens up, allowing us to look to the future with renewed energy. This handover marks the beginning of a period in which we want to strengthen our closeness to the sector and shape future projects that consolidate Poscosecha's role as a meeting point for technicians, researchers, companies, and producers.

The change is not just about people; it's also about an approach towards greater service integration and a constant effort to offer content that responds to the real, day-to-day needs in post-harvest and horticulture.

Poscosecha.com, with over 20 years of experience, has established itself as a daily source of updated news and technical and commercial information on the main companies in conservation, packaging, and processing technology for fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals. This commitment is reflected on its website, in two weekly newsletters, Postharvest News (distributed on Tuesdays and Fridays), and an active presence on LinkedIn.

The platform collaborates with more than 80 clients, including institutions, trade fairs, and companies supplying post-harvest technology in key areas such as refrigeration, plant protection, packaging, conditioning, measurement, processing, services, and new variety development.

Thanks to this work, Poscosecha.com has positioned itself as a reference portal for producers, technicians, packhouse managers, researchers, buyers, and supermarkets in Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.

New publication available in Biblioteca Horticultura: Cultivo, poscosecha, procesado y comercio del pistacho

The publication "Cultivo, poscosecha, procesado y comercio del pistacho" offers a comprehensive and updated overview of one of the most promising agricultural productions in the Spanish agrarian landscape. Featuring a carefully selected group of experts and professionals from the sector, this work serves as an essential reference guide for farmers, technicians, researchers, and entrepreneurs interested in pistachio cultivation.

Pistachio cultivation in Spain has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, thanks to factors such as the increasing demand for healthy foods, the country's favorable climatic conditions, and the accumulated experience with other nuts. With over 60,000 hectares planted—only a third of which have started production—the potential for expansion is enormous, making the pistachio a profitable and sustainable alternative within the agri-food sector.

The work is structured into three main thematic blocks: commerce and promotion, cultivation technology, and post-harvest technology, in addition to a section dedicated to projects under development. Each section is written by recognized specialists in their field. Key topics covered include nursery propagation, agronomic criteria, fertilization, irrigation, management of plant cover, post-harvest processes, nutritional properties of the pistachio, and strategies for the commercialization and promotion of the product in the national and international markets.
