Sormac Ltd has been named a finalist in the Technology Champion category at the FPC Fresh Awards 2026 for its innovative USM-H100 onion peeling solution.
Developed to address some of the fresh produce sector’s key processing challenges, the USM-H100 combines automation, hygienic design and precision peeling to help processors increase productivity and yield while reducing labour dependency, product waste, food safety risks and operating costs.
The Fresh Produce Consortium described being named a finalist as a “genuine achievement”, with every entry assessed against a consistent, evidence-led judging framework. Sormac was selected from what it described as a “particularly strong and competitive field”.
Commenting on this year’s entries, the judging panel said: “The ambition on show here is exactly what makes this category so rewarding to judge.”
The winners of the FPC Fresh Awards 2026 will be announced on 25 September at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
