StePacPPC, a producer of flexible packaging solutions designed to extend the shelf life of fresh produce, has announced its transition to FSSC 22000 Version 6 certification, strengthening its food safety and quality management system.
The company, which has maintained BRCGS Class AA and HACCP certifications for years, reported that the transition to FSSC 22000 has been effective since 7 May 2026. According to StePacPPC, the new certification scheme is better aligned with its current needs and supports a more integrated, risk-based approach across its operations and supply chain.
FSSC 22000 is a food safety certification scheme recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), combining ISO-based management systems with advanced food safety requirements.
According to the company, the transition provides greater integration of food safety and quality management processes, a strengthened risk assessment and continuous improvement methodology, and better alignment with international ISO standards and customer requirements.
StePacPPC also highlights that the new scheme places increased focus on food fraud prevention, food defence, operational transparency and a long-term sustainability approach.
StePacPPC develops modified atmosphere packaging solutions for fresh produce, with applications in fruit, vegetables, fresh-cut produce, herbs and cut flowers.
The company states that its products, processes and commitment to customer satisfaction remain unchanged, with the added benefit of a more robust and internationally aligned food safety management system.
