VDH Products has confirmed its participation in Fruit Logistica 2026, where it will once again present its portfolio of control and monitoring solutions for the fresh produce and agricultural sectors. The company will be exhibiting from 4 to 6 February in Berlin, at Hall 1.2, Stand D-31, reinforcing its role as a technology partner for postharvest, storage and ripening operations worldwide.
Fruit Logistica remains the leading international meeting point for the fresh produce industry, and VDH Products will use the event to reconnect with industry professionals, demonstrate new developments and explore opportunities for collaboration across the value chain. Visitors will be able to see first-hand how VDH’s temperature, humidity and atmosphere control technologies contribute to improved efficiency, product quality and storage performance.
Among the highlighted solutions is the Proba 5 ripening controller, widely used for tropical fruits such as bananas, mangoes, avocados and papayas. Designed for precision and reliability, the system regulates key parameters including temperature, humidity, ethylene, CO₂ and ventilation, while allowing users to create customised ripening programmes adapted to different fruits and maturity stages.
For fruit storage, VDH Products will present the MC2-FC Fruit controller, the successor to the FC 785 series. The MC2-FC is designed for seamless upgrades, remaining fully compatible with existing FC 785-PC controllers and enabling cost-effective modernisation without replacing the entire infrastructure. The company will also showcase the MC3-Fruit controller, a solution developed to manage up to five storage cells simultaneously, optimising control and monitoring in multi-cell facilities.
VDH’s offer extends beyond fruit. The MC3-Klima controller, developed in close collaboration with end users and specialists, targets applications in seed breeding, horticultural storage, plant growth chambers and tissue culture environments. It provides advanced control of temperature, humidity, CO₂, ventilation and lighting, with the option to create tailored climate programmes.
For arable crops, the MC3-Agri controller addresses the storage needs of products such as potatoes and onions. The system supports multiple storage phases—including drying, wound healing, long-term storage and warming—while ensuring reliable and efficient climate control throughout the entire process.
In parallel with its technological offering, VDH Products continues to invest in knowledge transfer through its Fruit Ripening Training, led by Frits Popma (Popma Fruit Expertise). The training focuses on practical ripening of bananas and other tropical fruits using the Proba 5 system, combining decades of hands-on experience with advanced software tools such as VASP.
During the two-day course, participants gain in-depth insight into tropical fruit cultivation, supply chains and fruit-specific ripening behaviour, as well as practical skills to fine-tune ripening programmes. As Popma emphasises, successful ripening depends not only on automation but also on human expertise: observing, feeling and tasting the fruit remains essential for achieving optimal quality and shelf life.
VDH Products will welcome visitors at Hall 1.2, Stand D-31, where its team will be available to demonstrate solutions, discuss applications and share expertise on ripening, storage and climate control throughout the postharvest chain.
